What it's about
When is a dog happy? When does it want to be petted and when does it prefer to be left alone? Dogs speak differently than we humans, and understanding their language opens the way to wonderful relationships and educational moments.
Accompany dog Minou on her walk and get to know her dog friends! Minou shows you how Nelly Cute feels when she licks her snout, or what Captain says when he stands completely stiff and wrinkles his nose. Did you know that wagging a tail doesn't always mean happiness? Exciting, right?
This book is an introduction to the language of dogs for young and old. Here you will learn what dogs want to tell you with their bodies and how you can best respond to it. Whether you already have a dog living at home as a friend or you meet one on a walk, there is something for everyone in this book!

The first chapter
An illustration is like a sculpture
I like to start by working roughly with thumb-sized sketches, and then work on a larger scale and with increasing detail once the sketch has been approved. This allows me to quickly test out many ideas and discuss with clients what appeals to them most and continue to brainstorm in that direction.
